Inflow. Outflow.

This blog has always been my coping mechanism.
Easy life was easy, overloaded with work - so I haven't posted in a while.

Yesterday I had a conversation with my boss about people coming and going, and that kind of down-to-earth philosophical jazz. I realized what life is about - it is all about reacting to change.
These photos are bad quality, but I can't stop smiling. Life is also about enjoying shit.

The whole point of having these photos taken was Agnesite, who left. Our little malicious ray of sunshine. But it is way more than that. The people involved in the single-use camera are (apart from me) Aga, Ieva, Rolando and Jānis.

Klaipeda, august 2015

As usual, this little smena has done a decent job. It reflects the peculiarity of Klaipeda and my time here quite well. I picked just a few shots, there are several good ones more, however still most of these have no artistic value, so I decided not to share all of them. Hope you enjoy!

The last portion of photos from Kaunas, developed and scanned in Warsaw. I'm not completely satisfied with the scan quality and I can see they were under postproduction (probably automatically).

There are some shots though that I'm happy about, especially that the memories are still fresh.
On the other hand, it might be time to fix my lil smena or switch it for something else, as I screwed up almost half of the film.

Manifesto

Recently a photographer in my photolab asked me what kind of a person takes photos like these, wanted me to define myself in a few quick words that would explain why, implying it is rather insane, however arousing even for the developer.

I live by the Occam's razor. I like to have little, do good, admire beauty. I'm amazed by the human body, all those tiny details that make you - you. And I don't see all that well by myself, so I feel connected with my pinhole cams, especially that the first experiment shows well how I see without my lenses on. I don't have a visual memory, I am a listener. I don't like sharp and accurate images. I like feelings. I like anticipation, it makes things last longer but more intensely. I savour life, and strive for tasting it all.

I don't need to be the best at what I do. Over the years I noticed that enjoying things to the fullest actually makes it for you at some point. Osho taught me to forget my ego, let go of ambition and love. I do things out of love, am out of love. It's the only thing that can keep you going and never break.
During my studies I've been unintentionally taught to live by a concept.

I am an architect and I like to know how things I use work. It doesn't mean I burn clay details in my oven, though. I want architecture to keep moments too. I want it to tell stories and make use of all senses. That should be my manifesto one day. Cameras out of boxes keep moments. They even create moments on their own.

I fucking enjoy moments.
